Oh my! This was my first workout at Instinct Fitness and man was it a good one. I really like the whole group workout concept, because it does help push you. I still finished last but wouldn't have pushed myself that hard if I just worked out at home.
I used 16s on the way down for all exercises. On the way, up I used 12s for the snatches on my left (forearm was really swollen) as well as the entire last round of 21 (left and right).
I think I'm going to like it there. I've done a good job of keeping up with my workouts at home, but haven't challenged myself all that much. I won't have choice there. They will also be traveling to Michigan in March to compete in the IKFF Invitational Kettelbell Championships. Maybe I'll join them...
So is this a group thing or do you workout on your own but there are others around working out too? That's one reason I like the gym, I do push myself more there. Especially if I know people are watching! If I workout at home I don't feel like I'm 100% there, you know? I know I can focus more at the gym. I'm glad you like it, I can't wait to see it!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a group thing, so we're all doing the same workout at our own pace. When I notice that everyone is moving faster than I am, I take less of a break. I know that I should/could be moving faster. I know my pace isn't that impressive. It pushes me.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm at home, I just assume my pace is fine. I take longer breaks. I'm more apt to cut a workout at short. Like if I did this one at home, I'd probably just go 21,15,9 and call it a day. Not really an option with the group atmosphere.
Oh that's really cool. And I totally agree with you! It does push you more and if you are competititve like me, I'll want to pull ahead of someone just because. Nothing wrong with a little extra push!! =)
